Your laptop may already have a decent webcam. Most do. Which is why Amazon’s Prime Day is basically a chance for vendors to unload quality webcams with a forklift.
I’m not really exaggerating. The Iskovi C28 webcam is a 1080p webcam, which has become table stakes for the best webcams for your PC. But the Iskovi C28 is just $13.59 on Amazon for Prime Day — that’s a whopping 82 percent off. And it gets better: Amazon will take an additional 8 percent off if you buy two.
Yes, that’s insane. What’s even crazier is that this webcam — which, admittedly, I haven’t reviewed — has a fairly uniform four- and five-star rating on Amazon. I know what you’re thinking — is there something going on here? You’re probably aware of Amazon’s lenient return policies, so I doubt this is anything but legitimate. It’s just that 1080p webcams have become so dang cheap that they’re almost literally giving them away right now.
Sure, there’s nothing fancy here: This is a fixed-focus webcam that captures video at 30fps. But there’s a privacy shutter, low-light correction, and noise-cancelling mics. (One customer calls out the camera for a grainy picture in low light, which wouldn’t be that unusual. Lighting yourself well with a ring light or just a bright monitor certainly helps.)
But it does come with a complementary mini tripod!
After all is said and done, here’s what the math works out to: You spend $25.01 (plus tax) to buy a webcam for you and someone else who doesn’t have a webcam either with Amazon’s volume discount. Just make sure you check the drop-down box.
Okay, okay — maybe the price is just a little too aggressive, and you’re scared off by the fact that this is a well-reviewed product at a rock-bottom price. Then try this: The Anker PowerConf C200, our absolute favorite 2K (1440p) webcam for your PC, is also 20 percent off for Prime Day at $47.99. I probably shouldn’t include two webcam deals in the same story, but why not?
