While this isn’t the best price we’ve seen for this device, it is the best price drop it’s had since Black Friday and only the second time it’s gone on sale this year. If you want it, you should act fast and take advantage of this rare opportunity before this deal disappears.
The Kindle Kids is practically the same ereader that adults get with the regular Kindle, except this one comes with some nifty perks for children. For starters, you have three options for super-cute covers: Ocean Explorer, Space Whale, and Unicorn Valley.
More importantly, the Kindle Kids comes with a two-year worry-free guarantee. What does that mean? According to Amazon’s own words: “If it breaks, we will replace it.” So, if your kid happens to total this Kindle, you can get a replacement free of charge.
Also cool is the included Amazon Kids+ subscription, which provides access to age-appropriate ebooks and audiobooks for kids aged 3 to 12. The included subscription is for one year, after which you can either cancel or continue for $5.99 per month.
This is the latest version of the Kindle Kids (as of this writing), which has a 6-inch 300PPI glare-free screen. The battery holds for up to six weeks, assuming about half an hour of reading every day.
The Kindle Paperwhite Kids is also on sale (for $135) on Amazon, down from its usual $170. This one has an improved lighting system and a larger 6.8-inch screen, plus other covers to choose from.
